Milton Knight Interview

1. How did you come up with the Robotnik design?

ML: At DIC, Kent Butterworth gave me drawings of the original Eggman design and instructed me to 'make it funny'. I decided to give him a pointy head to exaggerate his intended egg shape, and shortened and fattened his joints for an impotent, blustery, flailing appearance.

2. What were your influences for it?

ML: I was really working from within my own head on this one, but I could later see the influences of Yosemite Sam and Wally Walrus (one of my own favorites).

3. Did you enjoy working for AOSTH?

ML: It was a fun job.

4. Do you think AOSTH should come back?

ML: Even though the DVDs haven't been selling spectacularly well, the program still thrives in syndication to domestic and foreign markets. I'd say yes, and that there should be a theatrical feature, too.

5. What were your opinions of the finished product?

ML: An annoying mess incorporating a few laughs along the way.

6. What's your favorite drink?

ML:Right now, it's rum and cranberry juice.
